Strenuous trail, but the reward is well worth it. Minaret Lake sits at the base of the Minaret Range, at approx 10,000'. Constantly uphill to the lake, and downhill on the way back. Can get very hot if sunny, but bring a raincoat for the thunderstorms. We continued our hike cross country up and over to cecile lake by taking a rocky couloir off the northeast shore of the lake, to the right if facing the large rock face. Tons of snow remains at the end of July. We wanted to complete the loop through Iceberg, Ediza, and Shadow Lakes, but too snowy and unstable to go past the northern shore of Cecile Lake. Highly recommend!
