This short but rigorous day hike leads into a spectacular, peak-rimmed alpine lake basin in the eastern Sierra. The immense, glacier-carved bowl of the Middle Fork Bishop Creek, popularly known as Sabrina Basin, boasts three dozen lakes, ranging in elevation from 9,700 to 12,400 feet. Many of these lakes feature excellent fishing, and all have a backdrop of jagged crags approaching 14,000 feet. The lower lakes are typically forest-rimmed, while the higher lakes are rockbound.

Moderate hike starting from the Basin of Lake Sabrina until you start hiking the switchbacks and eventually "carved out" stairs that will lead to the final ascension into Blue Lake. Beautiful scenery as you get to Blue Lake with the neighboring peaks beckoning in the distance!!!

Not easy for inexperienced backpackers/hikers but well worth the tough climb. Approx. 1600 ft. elev. gain in less than 2 miles. Spectacular views, fishing and day hikes from Blue Lake.
