Dusy Basin and Le Conte Canyon Professional Review and Guide
"Dusy Basin, where picturesque tarns encircled by lush meadows and sparkling granite slabs contrast vividly with a border of craggy peaks, is one of the prettiest alpine basins in the High Sierra. While the basin is a modest 8 miles from the trailhead, the moderately steep climb over a nearly 12,000-foot-high pass presents enough of a challenge that most backpackers use two days to reach it. With such stunning scenery, you should spend at least one additional day exploring the nooks and crannies of this exquisite parkland. Although there is no maintained trail through Dusy Basin, the terrain is uncomplicated, allowing for straightforward cross-country travel."
