Sand Dollar Beach is a protected horse-shoe-shaped sand and rock beach between two rocky head-lands. The trail passes a picnic area lined with cypress trees to the steep eroded cliffs and an interpretive cliffside overlook. Plaskett Rock sits off the southern point. There are great coastal views of large offshore rock outcroppings. Cone Peak, at 5,155 feet, can be seen inland in the Santa Lucia Range.
