North Coast Ridge Trail to Cook Spring Camp

Big Sur, California

North Coast Ridge Trail to Cook Spring Camp Professional Review and Guide

"The Coast Ridge Road connects Cone Peak Road to Ventana Inn at Highway 1 (Hike 41 ). This hike begins from the end of Cone Peak Road on the old road/trail, which is often referred to as the North Coast Ridge Trail at this end. The ridgeline trail begins along the north flank of Cone Peak and follows a craggy ridge with sweeping coastal and mountain views. This hike leads to Cook Spring Camp, a lightly used, multi-level camp with a small spring under a stand of old sugar pines. Just beyond the camp, the trail offers amazing views from a garden of sandstone boulders."
