McWay Falls pours 80 feet onto the sand along the edge of the Pacific at the mouth of McWay Canyon. The waterfall drops off the granite bluff in a scenic, wooded beach cove lined with offshore rocks. The Waterfall Overlook Trail, a handicap accessible trail, leads to a viewing area of McWay Cove and the cataract on the 100-foot high bluffs. The beach itself is not accessible. On the south side of the bay is a scenic overlook at a cypress-shaded picnic area and environmental camp adjacent to Saddle Rock.

The most picturesque bay from afar in Big Sur. Well travelled. Do go to the other side of the bay (south side) - most people don't.
