McWay Canyon to Canyon Falls

Big Sur, California

McWay Canyon to Canyon Falls Professional Review and Guide

"This easy hike begins from the main entrance of Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park and meanders up McWay Canyon through a rich, atmospheric coastal redwood forest. The shaded path parallels McWay Creek up the canyon and ends at Canyon Falls, a long, narrow, two-tiered waterfall on the South Fork of McWay Creek. The 30-foot cataract cascades off fern-covered rock cliffs in a lush grotto at the back of the serene canyon. The trail begins on the Ewoldsen Trail, which continues up to a ridgetop overlook for a longer hiking option (Hike 50)."
