This hike leads to ocean cliffs with classic California coast views. A short trail crosses the grassy marine terrace to the edge of the cliffs, where the coastal vistas are spectacular. A path scrambles down the cliffs to Jade Cove, a small, rocky inlet with smooth, ocean-tumbled stones and nephrite jade. The isolated cove sits at the base of steep 1 00-foot serpentine cliffs eroded by the rough surf. Plaskett Rock, a dramatic outcropping, sits offshore to the north. Cape San Martin extends out to sea to the south.
