Woodland Trail Professional Review and Guide
"The Woodland Nature Trail tours a particularly fine portion of the forest on the north shore of Big Bear Lake in the transition region between the conifer and pinyon-juniper zones of the San Bernardino Mountains. The trail was constructed by volunteers in 1986, and features 20 numbered posts around the loop. Pick up a brochure at the trailhead, which provides historic, botanical, and geological information keyed to the sign posts. The Woodland Trail is ideal for families with young children looking for a good place to take a walk while visiting the Big Bear area."
