This trip visits the beautiful, historic Holcomb Valley. If you are at all adventurous, not afraid of ghosts wielding picks and shovels, few hours, consider exploring side roads in addition to the route listed here. There are many miles of Forest Service roads leading to old mining claims, picnic spots and just plain interesting places to explore.

Great trail. Make sure you stop at the Bear Bear Discovery Center for the Gold Fever Trail Map. Some of the historic landmarks are gone and all that remains are the markers, but with a little imagination you can picture the buildings. Great area to picnic and lots of photo ops.
