Marsh Trail at Rush Ranch in Suisun Marsh Professional Review and Guide
"Rush Ranch offers some of the most inviting hiking in all the Suisun Marsh, the largest estuarine marsh in the United States. The historic ranch property is at the west end of the great Suisun Marsh, set against the Potrero Hills. You will hike among cattails and tules, and may see river otters, tule elk, ducks, ring-tailed pheasants, northern harriers, short-eared owls, and golden eagles. In all there are more than 230 species of birds known to pass through the marsh. The hike is easy, passing along flat dikes and trails. The route heads out over open marshland, loops around to the main slough, then returns through a field to the ranch. Park activities include hiking, picnicking, and bird watching. There is a visitor center at the ranch. No pets are allowed. No smoking is permitted. No fee is charged."
