Beside San Francisco Bay, this small lake is handy to East Bay paddlers. Operated by the City of Berkeley, the 100-acre park offers picnicking, rest rooms, Frisbee course, a water ski clubhouse, and launch ramp. Only 150 yards from San Francisco Bay, winds blowing from the Golden Gate keep the park cool while summer fog makes sunburns infrequent. Look to the west past Interstate 80 for a remarkable view of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, and the Marin Headlands.
