Lower Salmon Lake Professional Review and Guide
"Most hikers bypass the trip to Lower Salmon Lake in favor of the Upper Salmon Lake Trail nearby. However, the fact that the Lower Salmon Lake Trailhead is unsigned may contribute to its relative lack of use. The lake doesn’t deserved to be shunned, as the scenery is quite attractive, providing a fine destination for hikers in search of a short, easy trip. Although the elevation gain and loss is minimal, bear in mind that the route from the trailhead to the lake is all downhill, requiring a higher degree of effort on the return trip. An old mine on the far side of the lake can provide hours of interesting exploration."
