Deer Lake Trail and Pacific Crest Trail Loop

Deer Lake Trail and Pacific Crest Trail Loop Professional Review and Guide

"Whether you do this route as an 8-mile loop or as a 6-mile shuttle trip, you’ll experience great views from a 2.5-mile-long ridge and fine scenery at a picturesque lake. Without the shuttle, a 2-mile, knee-jarring descent on paved road is necessary to return to the trailhead.

Deer Lake is one of the more scenic lakes accessible by trail in the region, but the exquisite view of the lake with the rugged Sierra Buttes in the background will more than compensate for the potential crowds."
