This trail is great for beginners and intermediate hikers. The trail offers a great payoff lookout point overlooking Bass Lake and Oakhurst. Also to the north east you can see little shuteye peak and its big brother Shuteye Peak which is at 8,500 ft. The trail round trip is 8.4 miles. The first three quarters of the trail has good shade covering. So if you are hiking this trail in early spring wear a light jacket or hoodie. Summer hiking bring plenty of water and snacks you will need it.
