Caruthers Canyon Trail

Caruthers Canyon Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The lush canyon bottom here is framed by spires of golden granite. A diverse plant community flourishes in Caruthers Canyon due to high elevation and plentiful water. There is also evidence of animal life, although, as in most desert habitats, they remain invisible during the day. Animal footprints around standing pools of water indicate their presence. If water is in Caruthers during your visit, please be considerate of the canyon’s permanent residents and don’t use the stream as a thoroughfare or play area. Desert water is too precious for such disrespect."
