    "Finding the campground: From I-80 at the north end of Auburn, take the Foresthill Road exit and drive about 24 miles northeast. Turn left (west) onto Sugar Pine Road (FR 10) and drive just under 3 miles to a fork. Bear left and continue 4.5 miles around the lake, past Giant Gap Campground.

    About the campground: The campground is adjacent to the Manzanita Picnic Area, on the north shore of Sugar Pine Reservoir. A paved, nonmotorized trail circles the campground. The North Fork of the American River is nearby, offering additional fishing and swimming and miles of hiking, biking, and OHV trails. Elevation 3,600 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open May through October."
