Lake Clementine Trail

Lake Clementine Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This scenic stretch of gravel trailway traces the North Fork American River, passes beneath the towering, newer Foresthill Bridge, offers access to a swimming hole, and culminates at an overlook of Lake Clementine’s spillway waterfall.

The confluence of the North and Middle Forks of the American River, in the bottom of a steep, spectacular canyon, draws thousands of visitors to the Auburn State Recreation Area each year. But many of those visitors don’t know that the river valleys—and the historic sites within them—have long been slated for submersion beneath a huge and controversial reservoir."
