Big Reservoir and Morning Star Big Reservoir

Big Reservoir & Morning Star (Big Reservoir) Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Finding the campground: From I-80 at the north end of Auburn, take the Foresthill Road exit and drive about 24 miles northeast. Turn left (west) onto Sugar Pine Road (FR 10) and drive just under 3 miles. Turn right onto FR 24 and drive about 2 miles.

About the campground: This attractive 70-acre lake does not permit boats with motors, making it a good place for canoeing and kayaking. Fishing is poor but may improve, since private stocking of the lake with trout began a few years ago. Elevation 4,000 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open May through October."
