The area is honey-combed with many trails, with the major trail beginning on Aptos Creek Road and eventually turning into a two-track. The other trails branch off from the main road and are paths. I ran 8 miles, pretty much straight up at a moderate grade (3-4%) and was impressed by the large redwoods and dramatic terrain. I didn't quite make it all the way to the top (Sand Hill) as I ran out of time and returned back down. I was one of the very few runners although the couple of dozen mountain bikers were friendly.

It was a great run and I'd do it again.
