During the last 10 years, the Sacramento and San Joaquin delta system has evolved into an amazing fishery for fly rodders. Deep within these braided waterways lies a fly fishing wonderland for the adventurous angler. An unbelievable number of cuts, sloughs, islands, and levees present a smorgasbord of angling locations. The structure and cover range from tulelined banks to grassy flats and channels and mile after mile of riprap-style rocky banks. Much of the fly fishing game is played in waters from 1 to 25 feet deep. A boat or inflatable is key to finding working game fish. Though you could walk the levees and catch fish, being mobile on the water is a definite advantage. Types of Fish: Striped and largemouth bass, king salmon, panfish.
