North Burma Trail Professional Reviews and Guides

"This challenging hike climbs steeply up through classic California oak forest, rewarding hikers at the top with a wide meadow and small, rush-hemmed Ilsanjo Lake. After a refreshing foot soak, hikers wander some more through savanna-like meadows trimmed with historic rock walls before heading down past an old quarry to the visitor center, and up a level stretch to the trailhead."

I've been to this park twice before, this again was a fantastic hike. We had to deviate from the planned hike when we reached the Cobblestone / Live Oak junction. We took Live Oak because we had a first time hiker with us and she was a bit winded. Anyway, My preference for this park is early morning when the fog is still around, the lake looks beautiful and you have a very good chance of seeing a lot of deer. My best wildlife action shot was taken at Annadel! Loved it... Can't wait to go again!
