Pope Canyon Trail

Pope Canyon Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Pope Canyon lies on the north edge of Cedar Roughs, one of the creeks that feeds Lake Berryessa from the west. It is a highly scenic agricultural area that is rapidly becoming dominated by vineyards.

Cedar Roughs, a federally designated Wilderness Study Area, is a forested area with a high concentration of shrubby Sargent and McNabb cypress trees. Sargent cypress groves occur only in California, and this is the largest stand in the state, stretching over 3,000 acres. Pope Canyon Road winds along Pope Creek from Lake Berryessa to Pope Valley."
