Heart Bar Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Drive up to Big Bear on CA 330 and you feel like a rat in a maze. The road zips up through carnival-ride corners shouldered with impenetrable chaparral. Oncoming traffic appears out of nowhere. Suddenly, behind you, there’s a string of impatient cars. You pull over, and they fly by in a flash of waxed paint and chrome."

It ended up being a great site!! At first when we drove up I was worried...I didn't know how we were going to tent on the side of a mountain but my husband found a somewhat flat spot and we had a great weekend!! The campground was quiet, the hiking was great and the sunset was gorgeous!! A few times the toilets were not as clean as I would have liked and they ran out of toilet paper but we had our own so it was ok. Overall, great place to camp!
One of my favorite campgrounds in Southern Cal, if not my favorite. Marion Mountain Trail is an epic Socal hike (to the peak of San Jacinto) and this is the perfect spot to start from.
