This segment follows the edge of the Santa Ana River Canyon past the resort community of Seven Oaks before climbing back up to cross Middle Control Rd. and on to Angelus Oaks. The undulating trail curves in and out to cross numerous tributary creeks, where wildflowers, firs, oaks, and a variety of pines can be found. Camping opportunities are limited. Mountain bikers use this trail heavily, but a fall on some of the steep slopes could be serious.
