    Sturtevant Trail

    Sturtevant Trail is a hiking trail in Los Angeles County, California. It is within Angeles National Forest and San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. It is 4.9 miles long and begins at 5,695 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 10.1 miles with a total elevation gain of 4,872 feet. The ISI Telescope, ISI Telescope, 100-inch Hooker Telescope, S2 CHARA Telescope, and ISI Telescope optical telescopes are near the trailhead. There are also light pipes and a reservoir covered. The Sturtevant Falls attraction and the Echo Rock viewpoint can be seen along the trail. There is also a picnic site along the trail. This trail connects with the following: Upper Winter Trail and Lower Winter Creek Trail.

    One of my favorite trails when I lived in Los Angeles. This is a great hike to take in the summer because there's tons of shade. You walk down through a forest and eventually reach the falls for a nice rest and cool dip. It's also a great dog-friendly hike.
