"Andrew Molera State Park, the largest state park on the Big Sur coast, encompasses 4,800 acres and extends along both sides of Highway 1 . The park has mountains, meadows, a 2.5-mile strand of beach, and over 1 5 miles of hiking trails. The Big Sur River flows through the park to the Pacific Ocean. This hike parallels the Big Sur River along ocean bluffs to Molera Point and Molera Beach at the coastline. From the ridge are views of this diverse park, its numerous hiking trails, Molera Beach, the Point Sur Lighthouse, and Cooper Point at the south end of the bay. A side trip leads to Cooper Cabin. Built with redwood logs in 1 861 , the cabin is the oldest surviving ranch structure in Big Sur. The return trail meanders through a grassy meadow lined with sycamores."
