Explore wild and beautifully shaded Millard Canyon and an historic mine, plus take in views of a lovely 40-foot waterfall. The hike to Dawn Mine through Millard Canyon is one of the most underutilized and understated stretches of the Angeles National Forest—natural beauty absolutely flourishes here. The atmosphere is truly stunning. Not only is the gorgeous riparian splendor copious, history abounds in the area as well. Visitors can look forward to seeing remnants of the mine and its operation throughout the canyon, along with the beautiful cascade of Saucer Falls. Hikers can expect to see some other people, but the area isn’t extremely popular, especially once the trail branches up-canyon.
