This trail is located within Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park in Laguna Niguel. This easy loop seems a lot shorter than its 9-mile length would indicate. Maybe that's because with its family-friendly diversions -- including and elephant-shaped rock, a cave reputed to be an old-time bank robbers' hide-out, and an optional nature loop -- the ride seems to pass quickly. Set in the immensely popular Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park, this ride is regarded as a perfect introduction to the sport of mountain biking. An easy, gentle downhill from the parking area leads to a ranger station where families can gear up for the scenic part of the route.
