A magically beautiful escape along a gentle coastal stream snuggled between lush fir hillsides. Marine Mammal Protection Act applies. From the California Highway 1 bridge, the view upstream into the hills entices one to trace the Albion River. Summer mornings are often foggy. During summer afternoons strong winds blow upstream from the ocean to make downstream paddling difficult. Spring and autumn have brighter, calmer days. Exploring the ocean waters of Albion Cove can be enticing but requires negotiating the fast water in the narrow channel under the south end of the bridge.
