Drive through dramatic Sonoran Desert on two lightly traveled loop roads. See abundant desert flora and wildlife including the Organ Pipe Cactus, common in Mexico but rare in the United States. Booklets, which explain numbered features along routes, are available at Visitor Center for a small fee. Enjoy hiking trails and nature walks. The campground includes 208 spaces for RVs up to 35 feet in length. Water is available but no hook-ups or showers. Well-maintained dirt roads are suitable for most passenger cars. Ajo Mountain Drive has short stretches of pavement on steeper sections. Dangerously hot in summer. Carry plenty of water. Route-finding is easy.
