Laguna Mountain Ridge Professional Review and Guide
"Moon-like landscape with views of Yuma and California. A unique four-wheeling experience. A narrow, steep road along the top of a ridge. The road turns sharply, creating dangerous blind turns. You may need a spotter to avoid driving off the trail. Suitable for stock high-clearance SUVs. Route-finding is very confusing."
--Charles A. Wells, Guide to Arizona Backroads & 4-Wheel Drive Trails (FunTreks).
I provided some pictures of the first part of the trail but after that my focus was on the road, and my wife was having a nervous breakdown. There really isn't much room for error on this trail once you get toward the top. I managed to turn around at a point with a sharp right, downhill turn that concerned me that the wrong approach could cause a roll-over. Since we were by our selves, we called it a day.
This trail is one of our club's (Yuma 4-Wheelers) favorite areas. Veiws for miles, steep grades, blind turns. Many routes. Traveling East to West in harder than West to East. Stop to see the 8 Ball Mine and the Wishful Thinking Mine and the old "Steam Shovel".
