Davenport Hill Trail Professional Review and Guide
"This day hike to the top of Davenport Hill, features a pleasant, shady, pine and oak forest and views of the Williams area. The first section of the trail is signed as the Ponderosa Nature Trail. The Davenport Hill Trail junction is signed and is at the back of the nature trail loop about 0.3 mile from the trailhead. Turn right at the fork in the nature trail for the shortest route to the Davenport Hill Trail junction. Neither trail is shown on the topographic map, but both are shown on the Forest Service map. At first, the trail follows Dogtown Wash below the dam that forms the lake, but after the nature trail ends it climbs onto a broad, gentle ridge. This area is covered with an open ponderosa pine and Gambel oak forest."
