A hike through the rugged Dragoon Mountains to the hideout of the famous Apache chief. What is now a peaceful hike might have been a different experience when the Chiricahua Apache were using the Dragoon Mountains as a base for raiding settlements in the surrounding valleys. Led by wily Chief Cochise, the warriors led their pursuers into the mountains, where the Apaches’ skill at rapid travel through very difficult terrain made them impossible to follow.
