This passage traverses the valley between the Santa Rita and Rincon Mountains. It offers spectacular views and, but for a few climbs, mostly involves a gentle descent to the north. The trail travels through low underpasses at AZ 83 and I-10. Equestrians should evaluate these before heading out; an equestrian bypass is available (and signed) under I-10 to avoid the cement culvert, which can be stressful for equines.
