Saguaro National Park East: Douglas Spring and Bridal Wreath Falls Trails Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The Douglas Spring Trail is one of two long routes giving access to the west side of the Rincon Mountains from Tucson. Beginning in lowland mesquite forest thick with cacti and ocotillos, the trail soon climbs up small canyons, through open grasslands, and into mid-elevation oak– piñon–juniper woodlands, providing a variety of scenery and birdlife.
Many hikers visit the seasonal Bridal Wreath Falls, reached by a short side trail and a good destination for an easier family hike; the second set of star ratings for Children, Diffiulty, and Solitude refers to this trip. For an all-day hike, go as far as Douglas Spring, where there is a small backcountry campground."
