Prepare for a day in the great outdoors. You’ll begin your drive in Tucson, surrounded by the urban scene. But as you head out toward the Santa Catalina Mountains, you’ll quickly leave the city behind. One of the beauties of this day trip is that you can enjoy some of the area’s most magnificent wilderness so close to a city. To do both areas justice in one day, you’ll need to leave early and not linger too long at either. This could be a problem because both Sabino Canyon and Mount Lemmon have endless trails to hike on and acres of serenity to enjoy.
