Although you can’t drive your own vehicle on the Sabino and Bear Canyon Roads, the shuttles are a better way to see both canyons. You can get tickets for either shuttle at the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center. Both shuttle routes have numerous stops where you can get off the shuttle, take a walk, or have a picnic at any of several sites. Some people walk the road between the shuttle stops, then board the shuttle to continue. As with other activities in the desert foothills, early morning is the best time to enjoy these canyons during the summer months.
