Rincon Crest Loop

Rincon Crest Loop Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This loop hike takes you from the desert to the forested summit of the Rincon Mountains, Tucson’s other “backyard” mountain range. The Rincon Mountains are one of southern Arizona’s classic “sky island” ranges. Warning: The lower, desert portions of this loop are extremely hot in summer, and the high country may have snow from December through April.

These trails are within the Rincon Mountain Unit of Saguaro National Park. Because of the park’s proximity to the city, the trails are very popular. A permit must be obtained from the park Visitor Center, and camping is allowed at designated backcountry campsites only. Water sources are far apart on this loop."
