King Canyon

King Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"A day hike to the top of Wasson Peak. The slopes surrounding the gulch are dominated by stately saguaros, while barrel cacti, palo verdes, ocotillos, and chollas are also well represented in this classic Sonoran Desert plant community. Views of the Red Hills and Tucson Mountains expand until the trail reaches its terminus at a mountaintop junction.

The streamcourse and the old road converge below the Mam-a-Gah Picnic Area, which was named after a Tohono O’odham Indian chief. It offers a shaded ramada and well-camouflaged restrooms."
