A day hike from San Pedro Vista to General Hitchcock Campground. A mixed forest of white firs, Douglas firs, ponderosa pines, and evergreen oaks provide shady walking. Gaps in the canopy allow a sweeping vista of the Galiuro Mountains on the far side of a broad desert basin. As the trail passes a fingerlike projection of bedrock, an unmarked spur path climbs to the west on its way to the summit of Green Mountain. This steep track climbs steeply to rock outcrops that provide fine views of the surrounding country.
