This easily accessible, crescent moon–shaped lake has long been a favorite destination for fly anglers going for rainbow and brown trout. A bonus, should Crescent not be fishing well, is the good fly fishing on other nearby streams and lakes. On the down side, this lake sometimes becomes crowded. Though located in the White Mountains, the open prairie on which the lake lies can have strong winds that can hamper your casting. Otherwise Crescent is very fishable. A float tube or kick boat is a must. Types of Fish: Rainbow and brown trout. This eTrail covers the "where, when, and how" to fish in this region. You'll get a full-page map and information on the known hatches, suggested equipment to bring, and the best flies to use.
