Miller Peak Professional Review and Guide
"A hike along a section of the Arizona Trail, on the crest of the Huachuca Mountains in the Miller Peak Wilderness, to the highest summit in the range. The Miller Peak Trail starts up the grassy slopes south of the parking lot and climbs across the slope to a saddle, then begins switchbacking up a south-facing slope. This section offers fines views of Montezuma Canyon to the southeast. Notice the contrast between the grassy slopes you have just left and the densely vegetated slopes of Ash Canyon below you. Although the elevations are the same, the north-facing slopes of Ash Canyon are cooler and moister than the south-facing slopes. An alpine mix of vegetation, including ponderosa pine and Douglas fir, begins to dominate as you leave the dry, brushy ridge for the final ascent."
