Oatman Massacre Site Professional Review and Guide
"Visit a historic site where the Oatman family was attacked by Indians. See parts of Butterfield Stage Route and nearby grave sites. There is a wide graded dirt road narrows to two-track near massacre site. Reset your odometer at the start . Head east on a wide dirt road that swings north after 0.8 miles. Turn left on faint two-track road at 9.1 miles . Watch for cairns. Bear right at a fork at 9.9 miles. Massacre site is reached at 10.6 miles . Rocky road that climbs hill east of massacre site is part of the Butterfield Route (note wheel tracks in rock). To drive to the Oatman family grave, return to main dirt road and reset odometer. Turn left weaving through rocky area. Bear left at 1.9 between fence posts. Turn left at 2.2 miles across cotton fields. Jog left then right at 2.5. Road swings right before ending next to tall brush at 3.0 miles . Walk short distance southwest to grave site in brush."

Trail is very easy to run, very dry this time of year. I fixed most of the markers so it's easy to find your way. Once your on the dirt road (route 8232) follow it until you reach (route 8234) I put up stone markers so that anyone can see the trail now.
Only problem spot was in the cotton fields, they are very dry and dusty. The sand is about 6" deep ... need 4x wheel drive in this spot.
