Sedona - Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road: Flagstaff to Sedona Professional Review and Guide
"A 27-mile-long paved highway that drops from Flagstaff through
spectacular Oak Creek Canyon to the red rock country at Sedona in central Arizona."
--Stewart M. Green, Scenic Driving Arizona (Falcon Guides).
We drove Sedona to Oak Creek Canyon lookout and back to get the most of the views up and down the valley. It was a lovely drive. Grasshopper swim hole towards Sedona is a hidden gem. Once we found it (and it is not well posted) we had 2 hours in the water and on the beach with not one other person with us (we were there mid morning). It was great for our 2.5 year old son who managed the walk down and back no problem. A fantastic drive with lovely views.
Great views and start to the weekend in Sedona. We stopped at the info station at the first view point. The Ranger gave some great info on places to see in Sedona, as well as road and forest closures and construction traffic. You can also pick up local maps and passes there.
Great trip for all, includes Red Rock views and overlooking the Sedona Valley.
