Munds Mountain Wilderness Trails Professional Review and Guide
"Located in the heart of Arizona’s Red Rock Country, the Munds Mountain Wilderness offers mesa-top hiking with superb views of the beautiful Coconino and Supai sandstone spires, buttes, mesas, pinnacles, obelisks, and cliffs surrounding Sedona.
Sagebrush and desert grasses dominate the lower elevations, giving way to scrub oak and manzanita farther upslope. The broad mesas are dominated by piñon-juniper and groves of Arizona cypress with ponderosa pine, Gambel oak, and a few aspen coming in at the highest elevations. In some of the wetter, north-facing canyons, Douglas fir can be found. Major drainages of the wilderness support riparian associations: Arizona walnut, willow, cottonwood, ash, and Arizona sycamore. This trail guide covers an area with 18 miles of trails."
