A trail and cross-country hike to the towering sandstone cliffs and spires on the west side of Wilson Mountain, in the Red Rock–Secret Mountain Wilderness. This trail works its way through the Arizona cypress forest along the west side of Mormon Canyon. Arizona cypress is easily identified by its curling red bark and juniper-like scaly needles. It is a survivor of past climate change and now grows only in isolated pockets below the western Mogollon Rim and in the central mountains of Arizona.
