Allen's Bend Trail and Grasshopper Point Professional Review and Guide
"The Allen's Bend Trail parallels Oak Creek through lush foliage to a variety of swimming holes. This is an easy, scenic creekside walk to a great playground area. The hike begins at Grasshopper Point, a swimming hole at the base of the sandstone cliffs. The ledges are frequently used for diving. The trail stays close to the west wall of Oak Creek Canyon. There is an Indian ruin in a small cave near the trail. The trailhead is on the ledge above Oak Creek. Along the trail are rock pathways and steps. Cliffs overhang the trail to the left while Oak Creek is on the right. Several side trails lead down to the creek. At 0.4 miles is a trail junction with the Casner Canyon Trail heading right to Oak Creek. A short distance ahead on Allen’s Bend Trail are more swimming holes."
