This short trail is part of a loop that encircles Saddle Mountain. In mid-2000, a major washout rendered the complete loop impassable, but we hope it will be repaired, making the loop complete once again. Special Attractions: Remote, lightly traveled, easy trail through the Gila Bend Mountains; Ghost town of Sundad; Agua Caliente Pioneer Cemetery; Rockhounding for agate near Fourth of July Butte. High-clearance 4WDs are preferred, but any high-clearance vehicle is acceptable. Expect a rough road surface; mud and sand are possible but will be easily passable. You may encounter rocks up to 6 inches in diameter, a loose road surface, and shelf roads, though these will be wide enough for passing or will have adequate pull-offs.

Great trail. Pretty rough, a lot of loose rock, but pretty wide. Beautiful views. Easy to make a wrong turn at first, then gets pretty straightforward.
