A well spewing hundreds of gallons of hot water per minute into a small drainage ditch near irrigation canals along the Gila River. An irrigation well for use in agriculture evidently ran into a substantial body of hot water at an unknown depth. This water was tapped, piped out to the surface, and allowed to flow into a small pond. The water is hot at the wellhead, but cools off to a bathable temperature in the pond. The pond extends for several yards and people have improved it by digging deeper pools in the mud. More digging may be required to obtain a decent soak. This location is rather hot in the summer, and it is best to visit in the cooler months. The hot well is in a primitive setting, although there are some houses several hundred yards away.
